Dear Parents and Students,
What an exciting week of oral presentations, a birthday celebration and hard work is behind us. First of all, Happy Birthday to Evelyn Hsu! Evelyn celebrated her birthday with us on Friday, October 15th. Thank you Evelyn, for treating us with super delicious pizza!
Curriculum progress for Week 7
Math: We started with subtraction this week. All students are doing a fine job in Math class!
English: We are still busy with Verbs. This week we worked with helping verbs and the verb ‘be’.
Science: We looked at plant and animal cycles. We also reviewed vertebrates and invertebrates.
Social Studies: We will continue with Chapter 3 in the coming week, and take a little break from Science.
Students did extremely well in their oral presentation “Show us how to…” We learned a lot from each other. I believe that many new recipes will be tried out this weekend! Thank you for all the trouble and for working so hard on the oral presentations.
Students will also receive a book report assignment during the coming week. Everything is clearly stated on the assignment paper. The due date for the book report is November 2nd, 2010. That is the day the school will reopen after the mid-term break. Students, choose an interesting book to read. You cannot use a book you have already read. Choose a new book and improve your reading skills, vocabulary and general knowledge!
Students, remember about the Science project. Come present your choice of an extinct animal on October 22nd.
Our Student of the week is Alex Lee. Alex is not only a hardworking student, but he is also showing a lot of improvement in all areas of school. Alex is also performing very well outside of school! He is a chess expert and he is going to represent Taiwan in Greece !!! Alex, we wish you all the best for the competition and for your trip. You are already a champion!!! Congratulations!
Our Fancy Dress Day at school is getting closer! Get those costumes ready, everyone!
